A layout at last

Being back at work after a week of sick has meant very bad news for my latest online class. I'd been really good and kept as up to date as I could with the classes, but last week I was very very naughty and did nothing. Still we won't dwell on that - here is a page I have completed today about my favourite room in the house - of course it's my scraproom!Imgp0632a

I have actually used some of my treasured stash on it - the yummy SEI Allys Wonderland paper and an ENTIRE sheet of the Karen Russell dotty paper. Doodlebug paper frills (of which I have FAR too many that have been sitting in my stash doing nothing so I am so glad that I'm starting to use them up) and lots of random alphabet stickers. I made the little buttons with fimo and burnt the first batch!!!! These ones turned out just fine though.

Ally Pally

Well we had a fab day. I took Katie and Sally came along too. Got a few yummy bits including Tim Holtz grungeboard and fragments which I've already played with. Some paint dabbers with a nice tin. A few papers, basic grey Sugared and Fancy pants. I also treated myself to a bejeweler which I have wanted for ages. The Banana Frog stand had so much yummy stuff on it - I could have bought it all!  Here is a photo of Katie outside holding all our stuff Imgp0628a

It was quite busy so lucky we'd taken our own packed lunch and had our comfy shoes on! Some of the stands had sweets at the till which gave us the much needed energy boost between stalls. Now I'd better go and get scrapping with all that yummy new stash!

off to Ally Pally

Well, I am so excited! I had no idea that I would be able to go but everything has worked out wel. We are going to pick up the kids and Martin has agreed to drop Me, Kate and Sally off to shop till we drop. I'm taking a packed lunch as the prices are normally very silly. I hope I find a bargain or two. I need to stock up before the UKScrappers cybercrop in two weeks time!

I promise to post some photos when I get back!

Finished pages

So just to prove I did cut up that yummy paper, here are a few pages from my minibook. Dscf3155 Dscf3157 Dscf3158 I still have about half of the photos to take - after reading some comments on the forum for this class I am going to resist the urge to totally clean out each room before I photograph it - my house is sometimes a tip and that's ok! I lvoed how quickly this all came together once I started. I am determined that this minibook will be completed, cover decorated and I will display it either in the dining area, lounge or downstairs toilet!

Allisons mini-book

I am so chuffed with this prompt as it inspires me to use yet another one of the minibooks I seem to have been collecting. I am sure they are breeding in those drawers! I bought a Heidi Swapp kit from Costco about 2 years ago and inside was a small chipboard 6x6 album with page protectors. So I can make conventional scrapbook pages but still decorate the front WITHOUT having to buy yet another new album. Here is a photo of all the supplies I've pulled together to use on this project . I can't believe I am finally cutting into the Heidi Grace cupcake papers......am I crazy!!!!! At least I am usnig them on a project that I will keep and also as we only need a little bit on each page I should have some left over- phew!

I am thrilled at how quickly this little album is coming together. The house is still being added to, an ornament here and a photo there, so it will be nice to look back in years to come and remember how plain it once was. I still need a few more photos for this project but am well on the way to completing it - will post some photos of the finished pages later today.

Finally the motivation I needed

Shimelles new class finally inspired me to finish up a minibook I've been working on for a couple of years. It was started to document the building of our house and all the ups and downs involved. I thought this 7gypsies little house book was just too cute and I had to have it. It has been nice working on something smaller than 12x12 for a change. Used lots of my banana frog stamps, chatterbox and an old provocraft slab. I have SOOO Many unfinished minibooks that it is very satisfying to actually put one up the shelf and proclaim 'this one is finished' instead of 'oh I'll add the journalling in later'. A different style.

Dscf3039 It's a bit of a change for me to try something like this on a layout - so much stamping and doodling and nothing else!!!! I decided to do it after trying to use the elsie KI paper which is similar. I wanted to do some colouring in and use it with a photo of Anne and me which Debbie took at Centerparcs last earlier this month. As Anne is so arty I thought she'd appreicate my efforts on this one. I found it very theraputic and I'm quite pleased with the result. Any layout that allows me to use my new little chick stamp has got to be good, right?

No place like home

Shimelles new online class. Could this be the thing to get me back into blogging again. I doubt if there is anyone out there still checking my blog as I've been gone so long!!!!  Well, if anyone is there, the class started on Monday and I have managed one of the prompts as I've been sick with a stinking cold. Here is my first page Dscf3040a I've used some old old photos from the bottom of my photobox and also a couple downloaded from Flikr - thank you to the photographer!  I have also figured out a few things about my own camera as a result of this class and have taken a couple of shots from funny angles etc. I'm pleased with the results. I am currently working on another prompt and fiinishing a minibook I started before we even moved into the house - I will finish it today and I will upload some photos tomorrow. Thanks to anyone who is still out there and visiting my blog.

Christmas is coming!!!

Well, I can't wait for the weekend.  Saturday is 1st December and my christmas decs will be going up as usual. I bought so many new ones last year - I have forgotten what I have so I'm looking forward to getting them all out!

All the xmas parties are coming up and I am struggling to find stuff to wear thats comfy AND glamorous! Being between sizes is a pain! Everything is either too baggy or too tight!

My Santa swap arrived from my friend Zoe! I can't wait to open the first parcel :)

Christmas Journal time starts again too - so lots to do........at least I have bought most of my xmas pressies now.

Well, I will take some photos on Saturday of my grotto and post them here. Hurry up with the weekend!!!!

I'm back!!!!!!

I know I've been bad again. But life is mental at the mo. All the wedding stuff, work, xmas coming up...... you get the picture. I haven't even done much scrapping or knitting lately. Just housework and shopping. Now all the xmas parties are about to start it looks like everything else will take a back seat!  We've booked the honeymon so that is sorted. We are going to stay at the Kanuhura One and Only resort in the maldives. Very nice!!!!

The xmas journal class is due to start again on 1st december. I should take bets on how far I will get this year?
